Anacapa Island
is the Smallest of the four Northern Islands. It is almost
five miles long, but only 1/4 to 1/2 mile wide. It is actually composed of
three islets, east, middle and west. The three islets are 1.1 square miles
in size, and contain approximately 700 acres. The island lies eleven miles
from the mainland. In 1980 Anacapa Island became one of the five islands
include in Channel Islands National Park.
